Project Meline: In Production

“Meline” is the name of the young girl created for a short animated film Sebastien Laban and Virginie Goyons are working on in their spare time. Started back in late 2006, the film’s release date is still unknown, but from the looks of the pictures below, the wait is well worth it. I highly suggest visiting the Project Meline blog for more pictures, videos, information and project updates!

Sebastien Laban is an impressive individual, having worked on projects such as the “Superman Returns” film and Eden Games’ “Alone in the Dark”. Also working on “Alone in the Dark,” Virginie Goyons is doing the modeling and texturing for Project Meline.

Microsoft & Yahoo Merger?

Straight from Microsoft Press:

Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT) today announced that it has made a proposal to the Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) Board of Directors to acquire all the outstanding shares of Yahoo! common stock for per share consideration of $31 representing a total equity value of approximately $44.6 billion. Microsoft’s proposal would allow the Yahoo! shareholders to elect to receive cash or a fixed number of shares of Microsoft common stock, with the total consideration payable to Yahoo! shareholders consisting of one-half cash and one-half Microsoft common stock. The offer represents a 62 percent premium above the closing price of Yahoo! common stock on Jan. 31, 2008.

Personally, I think it is in Yahoo’s best interest to accept the offer. Do I think Yahoo will accept? Yes and no. Microsoft and Yahoo would compliment each other very well. On the other hand, it was just last year that Yahoo was given a similar offer and declined, so it’s possible that Yahoo will say no. Do I think the merger poses a threat to Google? Absolutely not and Google doesn’t seem phased by it either. In an interview on FOX Business Network’s Money for Breakfast, Tim Armstrong, president of North American advertising and sales at Google, said the company is “more nervous about making sure we stay focused ourselves than what the competition is.”

So what are your thoughts on the potential merger?
